FAQ

Refreshments

Bring a drink bottle as dancing can be energetic!

When can I start?

You can start anytime with on-going classes, and consult us if you wish to start a course later than the second class.

Do I need previous dance experience?

You don't need any dance experience. We recommend starting at beginners again if you haven't danced in a while to get back into it smoothly.

What shoes & clothing should I wear?

It's up to you either dress casual or dress up. It's important to wear clothes that are comfortable and don't restrict movement when you dance. Non-marking shoes with a smooth sole and good ankle support are preferable, although socks are ok (at your own risk and if they don't smell!)

We have our own range of shoes from Argentina which provide better balance and support than normal street shoes. Please contact us for more information.

Do I need to bring a dance partner?

Not unless required for a course. We think it's a good idea to change dance partners during class as it enhances your learning, as well as being a good way to make new friends.

Am I too old or too young?

Absolutely not, dance is ageless.

How long will it take to learn?

This will vary with each student depending on the number of classes and Social Dance events attended each week. We recommend several times a week for faster learning. This may be accelerated with Private lessons. It would also depend on the level of dancing you aim to reach.
